Elisha Cuthbert

Elisha Cuthbert

A former child star whose flame continued to burn bright into her teen years, blonde beauty Elisha Cuthbert has successfully carried the success from Popular Mechanics for Kids and Are You Afraid of the Dark? into a featured role on the hit FOX series 24 and a successful film career. A Calgary native who landed her first modeling job at the tender age of seven, it was a mere four years later that Cuthbert instinctively knew that she wanted to spend the rest of her days in front of the lens. Following an appearance in the 1997 feature Dancing on the Moon, Cuthbert landed a job as a field correspondent for the acclaimed Canadian television series Popular Mechanics for Kids, and her reporting proved so effective that she caught the attention of first lady Hillary Clinton, who invited Cuthbert to Washington for a meeting.

Though she spent the majority of her youth in Montreal, Cuthbert moved to Los Angeles at age 17 in order to pursue an acting career. Featured roles as a reluctant pilot in Airspeed (1998) and a time traveling teen in Time at the Top (1999) were soon to follow, and by the time Cuthbert joined the cast of Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? in 1999, it was obvious that her talent was growing. Her role in the made-for-Canadian-television feature Lucky Girl only furthered her reputation as a dramatically capable rising starlet, and her distinct onscreen facial expressions and convincing performance soon caught the eyes of producers who were preparing a new thriller series for FOX. Cast as Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) damsel-in-distress daughter, Kimberly, in the breakout hit 24, Cuthbert's character suffered through multiple kidnappings and a mountain lion attack over the course of the series' first two seasons. In the episode of 24 in which she shared a scene with the mountain lion, Cuthbert made news when the beast actually attacked her on the film set, sending the frightened actress on a trip to the hospital with an injured hand. On the heels of 24, Cuthbert took a supporting role in the comedy Old School before appearing in the subsequent romantic comedies Love Actually (2003) and The Girl Next Door (2004), the latter of which found her taking the lead as an ex-porn star who becomes the object of affection to a lonely suburban boy unaware of her past.

In 2006 the fair haired starlet both associate-produced and appeared in the psychological thriller The Quiet. Starring alongside Camilla Belle, Cuthbert played a rageful teen bent on murdering her molesting father. The film didn't overly impress the critics but it did mark Cuthbert's first foray into work behind the camera. The thriller genre seemed like a good fit for the actress, and she next signed on to star with Daniel Gillies in Roland Joffe's Captivity.

She moved on to a film career in 1998, reprising Hayley Mills' role in Disney's remake of the 1961 Mills vehicle The Parent Trap. Lohan's next feature film, a remake of the 1976 classic Freaky Friday, would come five years later in Summer 2003. In the intermittent period, Lohan starred in two Disney Channel Original Movies: Life Size and Get a Clue. Lohan's re-emergence in Freaky Friday catapulted her to her current status as an MTV darling. Christina Augliera

Christina Augliera

Christina Aguilera was born December 18, 1980, in Staten Island, New York. She is the daughter of an Ecuadorian father, Fausto, and a Irish mother, Shelly. Since her father was in the military she moved around quite a bit in the initial years. Her parents separated when she was seven, and she settled with her sister and mom in Wexford, Pensylvania. Her mother was a professional pianist.

By the time she was five, Christina knew all the songs from The Sound of Music and performed them at neighborhood block parties. At the age of eight Christina appeared on the nationally syndicated show Star Search and at the age of ten she sang the National Anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. By twelve years of age Christina had become a member of the television show the New Mickey Mouse Club. with fellow castmates Britney Spears, Keri Russell, and J.C. Chasez and Justin Timberlake from the boy band *N Sync.

All the while Christina had in mind a goal of producing her first album before she graduated from High School. After her two-year stint on The Mickey Mouse Club, Christina traveled to Japan in 1998, where she recorded a duet with Japanese star Keizo Nakanishi. She also performed at the Golden Stag Festival in Transylvania, Romania, joining Sheryl Crow and Diana Ross, who were also on the playlist.

Christina Aguilera caught the eye of manager Steve Kurtz, who requested a demo tape. Amazed by her voice and beauty he offered her a record deal when she was 15. She got the gig to sing Reflection for the animated film Mulan and the song was eventually nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture.

Her self-titled debut album was released on August 24th, 1999, and sold more than 250,000 copies within one week of being released. It spawned the hits Genie in a Bottle, Come on Over and What a Girl Wants. She also had a hit with P!nk, Courtesy of BMG and Lil Kim with the Moulin Rouge song, Lady Marmalade. Christina subsequently went on to win the 1999 Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

In less than a year since the release of Genie in a Bottle, Christina performed a duet with B.B. King and performed The Christmas Song for Bill Clinton on the TV special Christmas at the White House. Also performed a duet at the Super Bowl Half Time Show with Enrique Iglesias; and she was the only female guest at VH1's Men Strike Back special.

A cover girl on magazines such as Seventeen, Rolling Stone and Vibe, Christina also has a Latin album to her credit (in honor of her Ecuadorian roots).

As far as her dating life, like Britney, little evidence is known. She has admitted to having a crush on MTV's Carson Daly, as has Britney Spears, so apparently the cold as ice relationship between the two ex-Mouseketeers has competitveness both musically and in the sex department. The most recent dating rumor for Christina has been Enrique Iglesias, whom the New York Post claims the two were dancing nasty together late at night in a New York bar. As also the most recent dating fact has been that she's been dating one of her dancers, Jorge Santos, whom she's also been living with.

Christina's favourite sports are hockey and baseball. Christina's middle name is Maria and her favorite color is Pink. Her favourite food is meat and potatoes.

Instead of coasting on her success, she already has big plans for the future. She's writing some songs for her next album, and planning a fashion and jewelry line. With at least four hit singles, a multi-platinum album, a Grammy, this genie in a bottle has been released and is still soaring.
